Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. (Matt 11, 28)
It is the purpose and mission of the Pastoral Care Service Team at Copernicus Lodge to fulfill spiritual, religious, cultural and emotional needs of residents, families and staff at Copernicus Lodge.
Our Pastoral Care Team includes a Chaplain, 2 Felician Sisters, Pastoral Care Coordinator, Pastoral Caregiver and Pastoral Volunteers.
We have on site 2 Chapels and 6 Pastoral Quiet Rooms (one on each floor) which are used for mass, prayers, and quiet meditation.
Residents of all faith groups are supported by the Pastoral Care Team.
Serving a predominantly Catholic resident population we offer a number of Catholic services and programs that residents would normally receive from their parish community. We also invite Ministers of other faith communities for visits and religious services as requested.
Pastoral Services Include:
- Daily Catholic Mass in our Main Chapel
- Weekly Religious Hymns
- Weekly Religious Programs on each Resident Home Area (RHA)
- Celebration of Special Holidays such as Easter and Christmas
- Religious and Cultural Programs related to Polish traditions
- One-to-one Spiritual Care Visits
- Holy Communion Service
- Hospital Visits
- Sacrament of the Sick
- End of Life Care Support
- Bereavement Support
- Annual Memorial Mass
Pastoral/Spiritual Care is a supportive service which rounds out the medical and social services provided for our residents. Together we minister to the whole person--body, mind and spirit.
