Copernicus Lodge Adult Day Program
Our Adult Day Program for seniors is designed to provide compassionate care and enriching activities tailored to individuals with physical and cognitive limitations. Rooted in person-centered programming, we aim to support each participant’s independence, dignity, and sense of belonging. Our approach focuses on meeting the unique needs of each individual, ensuring that every senior is treated with respect and care in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
Our program is specifically tailored to embrace the rich cultural heritage of Eastern Europe, reflecting the diverse backgrounds and traditions of our Canadian population. Through meaningful and culturally relevant activities, we connect participants with their roots, celebrate shared traditions, and enhance their overall well-being. Throughout the year, we celebrate important cultural holidays and events, such with activities, music, food, and shared memories. These celebrations allow seniors to reconnect with their past and engage in intergenerational exchanges with younger generations, promoting cultural understanding and continuity.
Key Features:
Person-Centered Approach: Each participant’s individual preferences, needs, and goals are at the heart of the program. Personalized care plans are developed with input from family members, ensuring that we address physical, cognitive, emotional, and social needs.
Cultural Engagement: Embracing Eastern European traditions, our program incorporates culturally rich activities such as folk music, traditional crafts, cooking classes featuring beloved Eastern European recipes, and storytelling. These activities foster a sense of community, continuity, and pride in heritage.
Physical and Cognitive Support: Activities are designed to promote physical and mental engagement, with adaptive exercises, memory games, and therapeutic activities. Our staff is trained to offer support with mobility, communication, and cognitive stimulation, ensuring that participants feel encouraged to engage at their own pace.
Social Connection: The program encourages social interaction, allowing seniors to build connections with peers who share similar cultural backgrounds. Group activities such as dance, language lessons, and celebrations of Eastern European holidays create a supportive, vibrant atmosphere where everyone feels welcomed and valued.
Holistic Wellness: Beyond physical and cognitive stimulation, our program nurtures emotional well-being. Participants are encouraged to share their life experiences, pass down stories, and enjoy the comfort of familiar cultural rituals, fostering a sense of purpose and belonging.

The program receives financial support from the Ministry of Health to minimize fees.
