Fairways and Fundraising: $45,000 Raised for Copernicus Lodge

Sunshine, great shots, and even better company set the stage for a fantastic day at the 16th Annual Father Michael Smith Golf Tournament, held Saturday, June 14th at Granite Ridge Golf Club in Milton. Hosted by the Copernicus Lodge Foundation, this year's tournament was an event where birdies met big hearts—raising an incredible $45,000 to support Copernicus Lodge, Canada’s largest Polish seniors’ residence.
With 152 golfers on the course and more than 25 sponsors backing the cause—including Alpha Oil (Presenting Sponsor) and FIA Plumbing & Heating (Dinner Sponsor)—this year’s event doubled the fundraising total from last year’s tournament, which raised $25,000.

The excitement was palpable—from friendly competition on the greens to a lively banquet, awards, raffle, silent auction and plenty of laughs. But behind the fun was a shared mission: funding essentials like hydrotherapy tubs—life-enhancing items for our long-term care residents that are not covered by government funding.
To every golfer, sponsor, and volunteer: thank you for making this year unforgettable. With your help, we’re keeping Copernicus Lodge “a place to call home”—with heart, heritage, and a whole lot of drive!
