Copernicus Lodge Supportive Services Program
Copernicus Lodge offers a range of supportive services to help eligible seniors living in our Seniors’ Apartments maintain their independence, safety, and quality of life in their own homes. These services are funded through Ontario Health and are intended to support tenants whose care needs can be safely met within an independent living environment.
Eligibility for supportive services is determined through an assessment process and ongoing reassessment to ensure that services continue to align with each tenant’s needs. Services are provided based on available funding, established eligibility criteria, and individual care requirements.
Supportive services may include assistance with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, medication reminders, wellness and safety checks, emergency response, meal support, homemaking assistance, and coordination with other community-based health and social service providers.
A key objective of the program is to support tenants in maintaining their independence and remaining in their homes for as long as it is safe and appropriate. As tenants’ needs change over time, service plans are reviewed and adjusted to ensure support remains responsive and person-centred.
Copernicus Lodge provides access to Polish and English-speaking Independent Living Assistants (certified Personal Support Workers) who are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to scheduled service needs and urgent situations.
Our approach to service delivery is person-centred and holistic, recognizing the importance of physical, emotional, social, cultural, and spiritual well-being. Services are provided with respect for each tenant’s individual preferences, values, cultural identity, and language needs.
As a culturally focused seniors’ community, Copernicus Lodge is committed to creating an environment where tenants feel supported, respected, and connected. In addition to supportive services, tenants benefit from opportunities for social engagement, recreational programming, and community involvement that contribute to overall wellness and quality of life.
Supportive services funded through Ontario Health are provided at no cost to eligible tenants. This helps ensure that seniors can access the assistance they require while continuing to live independently in a familiar and supportive community.
Through a combination of personalized support, culturally responsive care, and strong community connections, Copernicus Lodge strives to help tenants maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life for as long as possible.
